Casella CEL Service Department
The Casella CEL Service Department provides Calibration and repair for the entire Casella CEL product portfolio. It is staffed with fully trained Engineers having accumulated more than 150 man-years in the Service business, more than 55 of them at Casella.
The department overall is approved to ISO9001:2008, and all calibrations are carried out to ISO17025:2005 protocol with measurement traceability to National and International Standards where they exist. Attached to the Service Department is a fully equipped Acoustic Calibration Laboratory that is accredited to ISO17025:2005 by UKAS, with measurement traceability directly to the UK National Physical Laboratory (NPL).
Individual or fixed price servicing contracts can be arranged which ensures rapid turnaround of equipment and effective maintenance regimes for users.
The department has diverse capabilities to service and calibrate a wide range of instruments not only of own manufacture. This includes:
- Noise Dosimeters
- Sound Level Meters
- Frequency Analysers
- Environmental Noise Monitors
- Personal Air Sampling Pumps
- Real-time Dust Monitors
- Gas Detectors (Level 2 service approved for RAE equipment)
Why get your instrument calibrated?
When using your measurement instrument to meet any Standards, Regulations or Guidelines it is essential that your measurements are accurate. Instruments of the type mentioned above all have a prescriptive standard that they were manufactured to, and calibration ensures the instruments still meet that standard. An, example of this is a Sound Level Meter (SLM) which is manufactured to an international standard IEC 61672 and a comprehensive calibration is required periodically. A simple, single point calibration that says the SLM measures 114.0dB is not enough. Noise instruments need calibration for frequency response, linearity and impulsivity amongst other things in order to meet the standard.
Application Standards stipulate the periodic requirements for calibration. An example of this is the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005, which says the instrument and the associated acoustic calibrator need periodic calibration every 2 years. Check the application standard you are measuring against for your calibration requirements.
